Feeding Guidelines

Because liver is so nutrient-dense, especially high in vitamin A, it should be fed in moderation:

  • General rule: No more than
    5–10% of a dog’s diet should be organ meat.
  • For a 50 lb dog: ~1–2 oz of
    liver, 2–3 times per week is sufficient.
  • Excess vitamin A can cause
    toxicity (bone/joint issues, lethargy, vomiting) over time.
